Frequently Asked Questions

A: Nutritional Therapy is an approach to health that looks for the root causes of imbalances and supports the body’s natural function through bio-individual nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.
Rather than chasing symptoms, it focuses on strengthening the foundations (digestion, blood sugar regulation, stress response, nutrient density, and sleep), so the body can function more optimally.
Instead of asking “How can I make this symptom go away?” Nutritional Therapy asks “What is the body trying to tell us? Where does it need support?”. Because when the body is given the right support, it often has an incredible capacity to restore balance.
-
A: It depends on your goals and what your body needs. Some clients begin noticing improvements within a few weeks, especially with areas like digestion, energy, or sleep.
On average, a 4-month timeframe allows enough time to identify patterns, implement changes, and observe how your body responds, which is why my Nutritional Therapy program is structured this way. While many clients experience improvements along the way, the focus is on building strong foundations that support lasting progress rather than quick fixes.
-
A: No. I do not diagnose or replace your physician. Nutritional Therapy complements medical care by focusing on your body’s foundational systems through bio-individual nutrition and lifestyle support.
Unlike typical doctor visits, this approach includes frequent check-in’s so we can see how your body responds, adjust your plan, and support lasting change. NTPs help fill a critical gap in healthcare by guiding clients in making meaningful, sustainable shifts.
You’re encouraged to maintain your relationship with your primary provider, and I can often help you implement their recommendations in a way that works for your life.
-
A: Not if you don’t want to! You can make huge shifts in your health without supplements. If I find there is a supplement or two that could be a real needle-mover for you, I’ll share it and explain why, but the goal is to use it for temporary support, not to have you on it indefinitely.
I have experienced supplement-fatigue myself from prior practitioners, so I truly try to keep supplements to a minimum. I believe that supplements are not solutions - they are bridges while the foundations restore function.
-
A: Definitely not. This isn’t about dieting, restriction, or eating like someone else on the internet. It’s about nourishing your body in a way that works for you. That might include more protein, more variety, better timing, or simple upgrades to foods you already enjoy.
-
A: That’s completely okay. Many clients come in feeling stuck or unsure where to begin.
Part of our work together is getting clarity (connecting the dots between your symptoms, lifestyle, and what your body may be asking for) so we can create meaningful, realistic next steps.
-
A: Currently, most insurance plans do not cover Nutritional Therapy, as it is considered a wellness service.
That means clients pay out-of-pocket, but receive a level of guidance, follow-up, and individualized support that typical doctor appointments don’t provide. Working with an NTP provides a structured, evidence-informed approach to addressing the root causes of your symptoms, with guidance to make changes that are realistic, sustainable, and tailored to you.
If needed, I can provide receipts for HSA/FSA reimbursement (check with your provider to confirm eligibility).

A: You can view current pricing and program details on the Work With Me page. This structured, multi-month program provides clarity, direction, and sustainable change. Many clients have spent time and money on supplements, appointments, or short-term solutions without lasting results, and this program focuses on building a foundation that truly makes a difference.
-
A: At this time, testing isn’t part of the program. The intake paperwork and symptom questionnaire give me the insight needed to identify which foundational areas your body needs the most support with.
Focusing on the key foundations (digestion, blood sugar, stress response, sleep, and nutrient intake) can resolve many health concerns. While testing can be useful in some cases, I find that addressing the basics first often has the biggest impact on long-term health.
-
A: I do not! I’ve been off social media for about five years now and it has been so rewarding that I plan on keeping it that way. The best way to stay connected is through our email support and bi-weekly video sessions, where we can focus on your goals and progress directly.
-
A: This is a great fit if you’re open to nutrition and lifestyle changes and want to better understand your body. It’s less about rigid rules or handing out meal plans, and more about collaboration and building lasting habits.
If you’re unsure, a discovery call is the best place to start. I’d love to chat with you!
